The administrator/tutor, Ms. Marleen Gordon, has been an educator who has worked in elementary, secondary, and post-high school education for three decades, serving students in Florida and New York, currently located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
Providing professional development has also been my passion. For eight years, I have served as a reading coach at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, creating the school-wide instructional focus calendar, and conducting professional development weekly for teachers. Reading strategies were infused in all subject areas to help students master the curriculum. School-wide learning gains and pedagogical improvement for school-based educators improved student-based data and our school grades.
In addition, I have served as a State of Florida regional professional staff developer for the Just Read Florida K-3 Summer Academy. Along with fellow developers, professional teaching support was provided to elementary schools that were not making Annual Yearly Progress, (AYP), while giving all supporting materials, including ancillary aids to instruct students for mastery.
